Botox

How many units do I need?

  • The starting dose is around 20 units per given area, however, your dose will ultimately be determined how many units are needed at a consultation

How long does Botox last?

  • On average people enjoy the benefits of injections for 3-4 months, when administered at corrective doses.

  • Modern NewSkin generally recommends scheduling injections 3-4 times a year when beginning treatment, and reducing to 2-3 times a year after 1-2 years.

What should I do before treatment?

  • Modern NewSkin recommends taking Arnica tablets 2-3 days prior to injections.

  • Avoid fish oil, ibuprofen, coffee, smoking, and alcohol 4-12 hours before treatment to help reduce the risk of bruising or swelling.

What should I do after treatment?

  • It is recommended to ice the injection areas to help reduce soreness which usually resolves within the 1st hour

  • Arnica Gel and tablets can be used to help reduce the risk of bruising and swelling

What should I AVOID after treatment?

  • You should avoid dentist appointments, body massage, pilates or yoga within 4-6 hours of treatment.

  • Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours after treatment.

  • Do not lay down or bend for 4-6 hours after treatment.

  • Do not massage or vigorously was the fash for 4-6 hours after treatment.

  • Avoid using a Clarisonic brush for 24 hours after treatment.

  • Minimize consumption of alcohol.

 

Fillers

What types of fillers are used?

  • Voluma XC: Used for midface, temples.

  • Juvederm Ultra XC: used for smile lines, lips.

  • Volbella XC: Used for under eyes, lips, lines.

  • Vollure XC: Used for lower face.

How long will it last?

  • Every individual is different depending on their metabolism

  • Voluma can last up to 24 months.

  • Juvederm and Volbella can last up to 12 months.

  • Vollure can last up to 18 months.

 

How many syringes do I need?

  • We will make a recommendation during your consultation.

 

What should I do before treatment?

  • We recommend taking Arnica tablets 2-3 days prior to injections.

Kybella

What is Kybella?

  • Kybella is a prescription medication used to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin.

How does it work?

  • The Kybella injection breaks down the fat cells beneath the chin which results in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin.

 

How many treatments will I need?

  • The doctor would make that determination during your consultation. Normally people need anywhere from 2-4 treatments.

How much downtime should I expect?

  • It is recommended to give yourself a week of recovery time due to swelling which depends on the size of the area being injected.
